world heart day programme




WORLD HEART DAY-PUBLIC AWARENESS PROGRAMME

            Ahmedabad Medical Association along with all associations and organizations has organized a public awareness campaign on the eve of “World Heart Day”.
            A curtain raiser programme on 29th September at 8.30 a. m. at AMA hall, Ashram Road.
During the coming week we are planning to put hoardings, distribute pamphlets at various public places and leading organizations. The idea is to create awareness about the heart disease in the society.

            In this programme all the leading cardiologist of city like Dr.Samir Dani,Dr.Shrenik Shah,Dr.Pankar Dhir,Dr.Sunil Mehta etc.were present.Along with them president of AFPA,APA and other leading doctors like Dr.Bansi Saboo were also present.

            Dr.Pankabhai who is very regular walker and conscious about preventive aspect was invited as chief guest of the function. He emphasis on preventing the unhealthy food habits of Gujaraties like fafda,bhajiya everywhere which is very harmful and reach in fat.

            In this programme a very informative public awareness pamphlets were inaugurated which comprises information on how to prevent heart disease

            Dr.Samir Dani,a leading cardiologist of the city, in his talk told that we are running very fast in the race of increase in the cases of heart diseases. The age from having heart disease is coming down. This is very alarming.

India today is progressing very fast in every field and if the young Indian is not healthy this is can not be sustained and the productivity of youth is going down. In western countries the result of public awareness programmes are very encouraging.

            Dr.Pragnesh Vachharajani,a family physician and vice president of Ahmedabad Medical Association told that family physician is most important in preventive care and strong message should be conveyed to the public by them. Regular screening programmes and adherence to the treatment of those who are already diagnosed is equally important.

Patient education and mass awareness is key to all. Those that are at risk or having unhealthy life style must be explained properly and peer pressure or counseling will definitely help in this.

The posters specially made of this occasion about 10000 in number will be puts across the city in all leading institutes like banks, malls etc.
